Breathe Easy, You've Found Me ((HUGS))

People will wonder why this blog is needed, why minority midwifery student? It's very simple actually; I was looking for this blog...but I couldn't find it...so I created it. We all have unique experiences, and every experience, every story, can help someone else. I am a black girl from the hood at an ivy league professional school. That, alone, is reason enough to write. Somebody was looking for this blog. Someone wanted proof that what I'm doing can be done - even when you come from where we come from.

To that person especially, WELCOME.

Homesick

Creepin up on me.

Today is my brother's 13th birthday.

Happy Birthday, boonness.

We're a Christmas family.

The next few days will be hard.

Tonight I'm watchin Beloved again because it's new on the free movies channel.

Happy Holidays. I want to watch that movie again soon, too. In a few days we'll be watching Daughters of the Dust which is a movie that is so near and dear to my heart. Have you seen it?

Thanks, darkdaughta. I slept through most of the day...cooked a great meal, we ate and went right back to sleep. Talked to my fam for while, but that proved to be a bit much, so that was that! But that night we went to a 10pm showing of "The Debaters" and it was a great pick me up. I also read through some blogs, that was nice. It was also great to be having the online convo that day, it was "appreciatingly" distracting.

I've never seen Daughters of the Dust! Is it available at Blockbuster???
